A Grade ‘A’ Customary Court in Ibadan on Friday ordered the remand of a 33-year-old man, Jimoh Abdulahi, in a correctional facility after he pleaded guilty to stealing a motorcycle worth N1 million.

Abdullahi, whose address was not provided, was charged with theft. He admitted to the charge.

The President of the Court, Mrs Sukurat Yusuf, directed that Abdulahi be held at the Agodi Correctional Facility in Ibadan until the presentation of facts and judgment.

Yusuf adjourned the case to July 9 for the review of facts and sentencing.

Prosecutor Mr Philip Amusan informed the court that the defendant committed the theft between June 19 and June 30 in the Odo-Ona area of Ibadan.

Amusan stated that Abdulahi was entrusted with the TVS motorcycle by its owner, Mr. Adaran Abayomi, for commercial use, but he absconded with it.

The offence contravenes Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
