Renowned Nollywood actor and living legend Olu Jacobs celebrates his 82nd birthday today, following two weeks of false death rumors circulating on social media.

Jacobs’ wife, Joke Silva, celebrated her husband of over 35 years with a heartfelt post on her Instagram page, @jokesilva, on Thursday. She shared a beautiful video compilation of Jacobs, captioned, “82 just like that. Agba ko ni nira l’agbara Jesu. Happy birthday and have an amazing year ahead, my darling Sir J of life @_olujacobs (loving his customized house coat).”

Silva had previously disclosed that Jacobs was diagnosed with Dementia with Lewy bodies several years ago.

Jacobs has been a significant figure in the movie industry, featuring in over 100 films and often portraying roles such as a respected king, wealthy father, or influential politician. His notable works include The Royal Hibiscus Hotel, Oloibiri, The Dogs of War, Ashanti, and Adesuwa, among others.

In addition to his film career, Jacobs has appeared in popular TV shows like The Third Eye, Play for Today, Rumple of the Bailey, and Squadron.

Jacobs and Silva, who married in 1989, have long been regarded as Nollywood royalty. Their enduring partnership both on and off the screen has solidified their legendary status in the industry.
