The Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (Oyo SUBEB) has closed its job application portal for the recruitment of primary school teachers after receiving 52,423 applications.
According to reports, the portal, which opened on June 25, was available until July 9.
In a statement issued on Thursday, SUBEB Chairman Dr. Nureni Adeniran confirmed the closure of the portal following the July 9 deadline.
“We are impressed by the response, which shows that people are truly keen and excited to work with the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board,” Adeniran said. “However, we are compelled to close the portal, as the deadline has passed.”
Adeniran noted the substantial number of applications received within the portal’s open period. “We received not less than 52,423 submitted applications. That was impressive,” he said.
Following the portal’s closure, Adeniran stated that the team has begun sorting through the applications to identify suitably qualified candidates who will be contacted by the board.
He urged applicants to beware of fake news regarding the ongoing recruitment process and advised them to check their emails and phones regularly for updates.
Adeniran further explained that the next stage would involve conducting CBT examinations. “The date, venue, and time scheduled for each candidate will be sent through the email and phone numbers submitted,” he said.
