Godfrey Okoye University (GOUNI) has announced a partnership with the Enugu State Government to leverage forensic analysis in combating crime and resolving paternity disputes.

In an interview with newsmen on Monday, GOUNI Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Christian Anieke, revealed that the forensic projects would commence in the next academic session through the university’s Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) Centre.

Prof. Anieke emphasized that forensic analysis technology would significantly enhance crime fighting and criminal identification efforts.

“With forensic analysis, identifying criminals becomes easier since fingerprints can be traced from any object touched,” he explained.

The partnership also aims to conduct paternity tests within Enugu, helping to settle disputes over child ownership between parents.
