“I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery,” Mr Musk wrote on social media platform X on Saturday, July 13, 2024.
Mr Musk is one of several well-known supporters of the new fund. Other notable contributors include Joe Lonsdale, co-founder of Palantir; Kelly Craft, a former US ambassador to Canada; and cryptocurrency investors Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss.
Mr Musk’s formal endorsement of Donald Trump
The founder of Tesla formally endorsed Trump’s candidacy for US president on Saturday, July 13, 2024.
The endorsement by Mr Musk was a sequel to the shooting incident at a political rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where the former president was slights grazed by a bullet from an assassin.
He had also called for the immediate resignation of the US Secret Service and the leader of Trump’s security detail.
“The head of the Secret Service and the leader of this security detail should resign,” Mr Musk posted on his X account.
