Connie Chiume, the renowned South African actress celebrated for her role as the Mining Tribe Elder in Marvel’s ‘Black Panther’ is dead.
Ms Chiume died in a Johannesburg hospital on Tuesday, August 7, 2024, at the age of 72, her family announced on her Instagram page.
While the cause of her death was not disclosed, the actress’ family has requested privacy during this difficult time.
They also assured that further details concerning her passing and funeral arrangement would be communicated in due course.
Ms Chiume was born on June 5, 1952, in Welkom, South Africa. She began her acting career in the 1970s and in 2022, Chiume starred in the sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
