Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State on Saturday reiterated his administration’s commitment to combating corruption in the state.
Speaking at the opening of a capacity-building workshop on anti-corruption principles for state directors in Dawakin Kudu, Yusuf, represented by his Deputy, Aminu Gwarzo, emphasized the administration’s focus on implementing people-oriented policies.
Yusuf highlighted that these policies are designed to enhance the well-being of Kano’s citizens through good democratic governance, and stressed that achieving this goal requires a relentless fight against corruption.
“The NNPP-led administration has zero tolerance for corruption,” Yusuf declared, urging all directors to align with this stance and uphold integrity in their duties. He also encouraged participants to fully utilize the workshop to improve service delivery to the people.
Mr. Muhyi Gado, Chairman of the State Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission, explained that the workshop aims to equip directors in the civil service with the necessary knowledge to combat corruption. Gado noted that the agency has already exposed cases of misappropriation of public funds under the previous administration in the state and warned that anyone found guilty of corruption would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
