The government of Niger State has assured its residents of its committment to rolling out people-oriented initiatives that will better the lives of those in the state.
Speaking at a broadcast on Monday, August 12, the acting governor of Niger State, Yakubu Garba, said the government is also committed to ensuring the welfare and wellbeing of all residents.
According to Garba, the state government had initiated the selling of grains at a 50 percent discount across the state as part of efforts to support residents to cushion the high cost of commodities.
Garba added that the state government would soon roll out more people’s oriented initiatives that would have a direct bearing on the lives of citizens.
His words, “I want to commend our youths and all stakeholders for choosing the path of dialogue in all issues affecting them.
“To our esteemed stakeholders and residents, you are the driving force behind our state’s progress.
“Dialogue and understanding are the cornerstones of resolving conflicts and advancing the development of our state,” he said.
Stating that he will actively represent the will of the people at the national level, the acting governor said he will not hesitate to engage with the Federal Government to address the challenges facing the state and nation.
He further called on the people of the state to continue to be law-abiding, adding that the state government would adopt more innovative approaches to governance.
