The first nomination show of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 9 took place on Monday, with five pairs of housemates facing potential eviction this Sunday.
The pairs nominated for possible eviction are Beta, Chekas, DoubleKay, Wanni x Handi, and Zinwe. At least one pair will leave the house during the live eviction show.
This follows a series of rule changes announced by the show’s host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, on Sunday.
The organisers have abolished the Custodian Challenge and the Head of House (HOH) ballot, stripping housemates of the power to vote for the eviction of the bottom four pairs. Immunity has been restored for the HOH, but the role no longer includes the ability to “save and replace” a nominated pair.
Under the new format, housemates will nominate pairs for eviction, while the ultimate decision will rest with viewers, who will vote to determine which pair leaves the show.
