Alhaji Salihu Mustapha, representing Kwara Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, has empowered 100 Kwara youths with digital skills.
They were empowered during a two-day workshop organised for Kwara youths by the Saliu Mustapha Foundation to commemorate the 2024 International Youth Day.
The event was held on Aug. 12, but the empowerment programme, which had the title “Youth Digital Pathway for Sustainable Development”, was held on Monday in Ilorin.
Addressing the participants via zoom, Mustapha lauded the youths for seizing the opportunity which would add to their skills and impact their lives positively.
Mustapha, who is also the Turaki of Ilorin, emphasised the need for the youths to leverage on opportunities in the digital economy to attain self-sufficiency.
He reiterated his commitment to uplifting young people in Kwara Central and Nigeria at large.
“I commend the resilience of Nigerian youths and their accomplishments in various fields. Their significant contributions to national and global progress are greatly appreciated,” the Senator said.
He also advised the youths to channel their knowledge and skills into ventures that would develop the society and country at large.
Speaking also at the occasion, Mr Abdulkareem Alabi, who physically represented Mustapha at the event, observed that the training was the second in the series by the Foundation.
He said the skills acquired would add value to the participants, and commended the large turnout.
