The Speaker, Katsina State House of Assembly, Alhaji Nasir Yahaya-Daura, has reiterated the importance of community approach in budget preparation and community development projects implementation.
The speaker reiterated the importance in Daura on Sunday, during a high-level stakeholders’ meeting from that Senatorial zone of the state.
The high-level stakeholders’ meeting was in preparation for the visit of Gov. Dikko Radda to the zone.
The aim of the governor’s scheduled visit is to gather inputs from the public on their needs, as part of his policy of a citizen-centered budget for 2025.
The speaker said the meeting provided a platform for stakeholders to discuss and align their priorities, ensuring a unified approach to presenting the needs and aspirations of the people of the zone to the governor.
Yahaya-Daura further stressed that the stakeholders’ meeting would ensure that any projects awarded in the area align with the needs and priorities of the people.
The speaker added that the meeting also resolved to present a united front and a clear roadmap for the governor’s visit.
According to him, the aim was to ensure that the needs and aspirations of the people of Daura zone are effectively communicated and addressed.
He further disclosed, “To ensure the success of the governor’s visit, committees were formed to handle various aspects of the visit.
“These committees are tasked with ensuring that all necessary arrangements are made to guarantee a successful and memorable visit by the governor.”
The stakeholders expressed their commitment to working together to ensure the success of the governor’s tour and to address the pressing needs of the people of the zone.
Some of the stakeholders in attendance were members of the state assembly from the zone, House of Representatives, a representative of the Senator representing the zone, and members of the State Executive Council.
Others included the All Progressives Congress (APC) state Chairman, Local Governments Chairmen from the twelve councils in the zone, party elders, political appointees at both federal and state levels, among others.
