Turkish giants Galatasaray have reached an agreement with Napoli to sign Nigerian international striker Victor Osimhen on a season-long loan before the Turkish transfer window closes.
The deal comes after Mr Osimhen’s fallout with Napoli, following a failed transfer to Saudi Arabia and Chelsea on deadline day.
Renowned football journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported that negotiations are ongoing, with all parties working to finalise the deal.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the agreement on Monday, September 2, 2024, stating that Galatasaray will cover €9-10 million of Mr Osimhen’s salary for the season, with no option to buy included in the loan.
“Galatasaray have agreed to cover €9/10 million as salary of Victor Osimhen until the end of the season.
The loan deal agreed with Napoli does NOT include any buy option/obligation clause,” Romano tweeted. “One-year loan, salary covered, and Napoli have accepted these conditions.
Galatasaray’s delegation will meet with Mr Osimhen in Napoli in the next hours for the final green light to the move.”
With the top five European leagues having closed their transfer windows, Turkey remains one of the few markets open for late deals.
Galatasaray are keen to capitalise on this opportunity, while Napoli’s decision to exclude Osimhen from their squad has further fueled speculation about his uncertain future with the club.
