The Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KAD-SIECOM) has released a timetable for the screening exercise for Councillorship and Chairmanship candidates ahead of the local government election slated for October 19, 2024.
This is contained in a timetable signed by Hajara Mohammed, the chairman of the commission and issued in Kaduna on Friday, September 6, 2024.
According to the statement, the screening exercise for all the chairmanship and councillorship candidates has been scheduled to be held between Monday, September 9, 2024, and Monday, September 16, 2024.
Mrs Mohammed said the exercise will begin from 9:00 am to 6:00 am daily at the respective local government headquarters.
“I wish to refer to Section 19 of the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission Law 2024, item Number 9 of the 2024 Local Government Council Election Time Table and P.9 item Number 3 of the Guidelines.
“Based on the above, you are by the notice informed that the screening exercise for the prospective Chairmanship and Councillorship Candidates is scheduled to hold from Monday, September 9, 2024, to Monday, September 16, 2024, from 9:00 am to 6:00 am daily,” the timetable said.
