The Presidential candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) in the 2023 election, Rabiu Kwankwaso has donated N50 million to support the victims of the Maiduguri flood disaster.

Mr Kwankwaso presented the cheque to Borno State governor, Babagana Zulum, at the Government House Maiduguri, during his sympathy visit to the government and people of the state.

The former Kano State governor described the flood disaster caused by the collapsed Alau Dam, as one too many as Borno is still recovering from the Boko Haram crisis.

He prayed for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives and speedy recovery for the injured and those who lost their properties.

In his response, Mr Zulum thanked the NNPP leader for his sustained show of support to the government and people of Borno in moments of need.

Mr Zulum assured him of the judicious use of the donation for the maximum benefit of the people intended.
