Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue has congratulated Edo governor-elect, Mr Monday Okpebholo, over his victory in the September 21 governorship polls.
In a press statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, on Monday in Makurdi, Governor Alia described Mr Okpebholo’s election as a victory for democracy.
INEC on Sunday declared Mr Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the Saturday Edo governorship election.
He said the success of the APC in the governorship election was an indication of the trust and love the people of Edo and Nigerians in general have in the policies and programmes of the APC-led government in the country.
He assured the governor elect of his support, a robust working relationship, and partnership for the progress of their respective states and the country.
Governor Alia urged the governor-elect to offer purposeful leadership to the good people of Edo State and beyond.
