Social media personality, Martins Otse also known as VeryDarkMan, has arrived at the National Assembly complex in Abuja to testify before the House of Representatives over bribery allegations involving crossdresser, Idris Okuneye and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The investigation divulges claims made by Mr Otse, who had released an audio recording that Mr Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky, had bribed officials of the EFCC to avoid prosecution for financial misconduct.

Mr Otse is expected to provide testimony and evidence to support his allegations.

The allegations, which first surfaced on social media, have drawn widespread public attention and prompted lawmakers to call for a formal inquiry.

The House of Representatives initiated the investigation in response to growing concerns over the transparency and integrity of the EFCC, Nigeria’s foremost anti-graft agency.

The inquiry is part of broader efforts to ensure that the commission, which is responsible for combating financial crimes, remains free from corrupt practices and undue influence.

Mr Okuneye, who has been a controversial figure in Nigeria due to his lifestyle, business ventures, and flamboyant public persona, has repeatedly denied the allegations.

Daily Patriot reported on Sunday, September 27, 2024, that Mr Okuneye filed a lawsuit against Mr Otse, demanding N1 billion in damages.

In the suit filed by his legal team led by A.R Omuviwie Mr Okuneye alleged that Mr Otse published an AI-generated audio of his voice.

However, Mr Otse’s claims have led to heightened scrutiny, particularly as Mr Okuneye has previously faced legal challenges regarding his business dealings and online influence.
