Senate President Godswill Akpabio has expressed optimism for a better Nigeria, calling on Nigerians to remain patient and believe in the President Bola Tinubu-led administration for a better future.

In a congratulatory message to Nigerians to mark the country’s 64th independence anniversary, Mr Akpabio commended the indomitable spirit of Nigerians over the years.

The senate president said though the country had been faced with numerous challenges, the citizens, however, had remained resolute and resilient.

ā€œMy fellow countrymen and women, on behalf of my family, constituents, the Senate and indeed the 10th National Assembly.

ā€œI heartily extend my warmest congratulations to each and every one of you on this momentous day.

ā€œToday marks a significant milestone in our journey as a nation, and I am honoured and grateful to God to be a part of it.

ā€œIt is axiomatic that as a nation, we’ve faced numerous challenges, but our indomitable spirit has always prevailed.

ā€œFrom our earliest struggles for independence to the present day, weā€™ve shown resilience and determination.

ā€œAs we move forward, I urge you to be patient and hopeful, our brightest days are ahead of us, and together, weā€™ll build a prosperous nation that our children and future generations will be proud of.

ā€œI plead with you to support the present administration and hope for the better.

ā€œI commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubuā€™s leadership, which has given us a renewed hope for a better Nigeria, his courage and dedication are truly inspirational.ā€

Mr Akpabio said lawmakers had passed several pro-development laws aimed at renewing collective aspirations for citizens and fostering growth in key sectors.

ā€œLetā€™s celebrate our achievements and acknowledge the progress weā€™ve made.

ā€œWeā€™re working tirelessly to rejuvenate our economy, empower our people, and lift up the most vulnerable.
