Senator Abdul’aziz Yari (APC-Zamfara West) on Tuesday organised a special prayer session for President Bola Tinubu and Nigeria to mark the 64th independence of Nigeria.

The prayer session, held in Talata Mafara town, Talata Mafara local government area, was attended by various Islamic scholars from across the state.

The senator said that the event was aimed at seeking God’s intervention in the challenges of Nigeria.

“We decided to celebrate the 64th anniversary of our dear country with prayers for our president in tackling the challenges of this country.

“We selected various Islamic scholars across the state to pray for our leaders to lead us to a better position.

“It is necessary to pray and seek for Allah’s intervention to guide our President to lead the country to a better position,” he said.

The lawmaker said that Nigeria needs fervent prayers to overcome the present security and economic challenges bedeviling the country.

“What we are facing today as Nigerians did not happen one day, it was an accumulation of many problems over the years.

“We believe in God, we believe that God answers our prayers, we emphasise that God can easily change the situation of this country to a better position.

“I am therefore appealing to people of the state to intensify prayers on a daily basis for sustainable peace and stability in our dear state and Nigeria as a whole,” Senator Yari added.
