Tinubu departs Abuja, heads to UK for annual leave

President would be away for two weeks on a working vacation and a retreat to reflect on his administration’s economic reforms.

On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja for the United Kingdom to begin a two-week vacation, part of his yearly leave.

A statement by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, said the President would use the two weeks as a working vacation and a retreat to reflect on his administration’s economic reforms.

“He will return to the country after the leave expires,” said the statement.

This trip to the UK by the president comes hours after Nigeria celebrated its 64th Independence Day.

Giving his goodwill message during a live broadcast on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, the president reeled out some of acheivement since assuming office and his plans for a better Nigeria.

He also called on citizens to remain united despite their differences as that has been the key factor driving Nigeria since its Indepedence in 1960.
