The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) successfully prevented a robbery attack on the Iwo-Ibadan road and retrieved a stolen vehicle from robbers in Onibu-Eja community in Osun.

The NSCDC boss, Mr Michael Adaralewa, revealed this information in a statement by ASC Kehinde Adeleke, NSCDC Public Relations Officer (CDPRO), Osun State Command, on Sunday.

According to Mr Adaralewa, at 3:25 am, a four-man gang of armed robbers invaded a house in Onibu-Eja community, stealing a vehicle at gunpoint from a family.

ā€œImmediately after the gang fled, community members promptly alerted the NSCDC state command for assistance.

ā€œThe officers of the command, while on patrol, swiftly responded and engaged the suspects in a gun duel. Overpowered by superior firepower, the suspects fled, abandoning the stolen vehicle.

ā€œThe recovered Toyota Corolla has a chassis number of 1NXBU40E49Z005008 and registration number KWL911TC, Abuja.

ā€œThe vehicle is currently in the custody of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Osun command. A discreet investigation is underway to apprehend the suspects and bring them to justice,ā€ the statement read.

The Osun NSCDC boss commended the officersā€™ swift response and bravery in thwarting the armed attack, and the public for providing timely information to the command.

Furthermore, he assured that NSCDC would continue to justify the trust placed in it by the public, and warned criminals to repent or face the full force of the law.
