Mr Fregene’s career spanned nearly two decades, during which he became known for his agility, commanding presence, and remarkable shot-saving abilities.

He played a crucial role in several key matches for Nigeria, helping to establish the Green Eagles as a competitive force in African football before retiring from international football in the early 1980s.
