An Ikeja High Court has issued an interim order preventing Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, from further circulating or publishing any defamatory content targeting popular rapper Falz.

Falz is also the son of prominent human rights lawyer Femi Falana.

The ruling was handed down on Monday by Justice M. O. Dawodu, who granted an ex parte application seeking to protect the reputation of the artist and his father.

The court ordered VeryDarkMan to remove all defamatory videos and comments related to Falz and Mr Falana from all social media platforms immediately.

The dispute centers around a series of online posts by VeryDarkMan, which Falz and his legal team claim contain false and damaging allegations.

The interim order serves as a temporary measure while the court considers the merits of the case.

Falz, known for his music that often addresses social justice issues, is no stranger to the activist scene, having participated in notable movements like the #EndSARS protests against police brutality. His father, Femi Falana, is a well-known advocate for human rights and a senior lawyer who has consistently defended civil liberties in Nigeria.

The legal battle between VeryDarkMan and Falz has raised questions regarding freedom of expression and the limits of online speech, especially when it involves influential personalities.
