Social media influencer Idris ‘Bobrisky’ Okuneye, has again refuted allegations he made defamatory statements against renowned lawyer Femi Falana and his son, musician and activist Falz.

“I Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju aka Bobrisky did not publish any defamatory statement or statements concerning the learned SAN and his Son Falz and it is in public domain pursuant to my solicitor’s letter dated the 27th day of September 2024 that I have denied any knowledge of what VDM published,” Bobrisky said.

The controversy began last month when activist VeryDarkMan shared an audio recording in which Bobrisky allegedly claimed that Mr Falana and Falz reached out to him while serving a six-month sentence for currency abuse.

In the recording, Bobrisky was heard saying that the father and son offered to secure her a presidential pardon in exchange for N10 million.

Bobrisky has since dismissed the audio as “fake” and threatened legal action against VeryDarkMan for defamation, insisting that the conversation was fabricated.

Mr Falana and son Falz, on Wednesday, issued a demand for a public apology and retraction of the alleged remarks within 12 hours, stating that failure to comply could result in legal consequences.

In response, Bobrisky took to Instagram to maintain his innocence, arguing that the blame lies solely with VeryDarkMan for “publishing defamatory content.”

He further claimed that his right to free communication was being infringed upon and assured his followers that his legal team was preparing a comprehensive response.

“I stand by my express denial and put the matter to strict proof and advise that whoever has been defamed should hold the publisher of the defamatory content and my fundamental rights to privacy of my communications should be respected and protected,” he added.
