The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kaduna Sector Command, has said that 13 persons died in the road crash that occurred on the Kaduna -Abuja expressway on Friday, October 25, 2024.
The Sector Commander for the FRSC, Kabir Nadabo while confirming the incident said the crash occurred near Olam farm at about 3:00 pm.
Mr Nadabo said, “The road traffic crash occurred near Olam farm on Kaduna-Abuja highway about 3:00 pm when a Toyota Hiace marked GTG 96YA carrying 11 persons collided with a Golf Salon marked RBC 369XE with five passengers.
He said those who died had been moved to St. Geralds Hospital, while three who survived were immediately conveyed to AP Smart Hospital, Kakuri for further treatment.
“As we enter the ember season fully, motorists are reminded of the need to adhere to basic safety ethics while travelling,” he said.
He said it was imperative to also remind motorists that excessive speeding was dangerous. He urged drivers to always maintain the requisite speed limits while in transit.
