Mr John Nwosu, a Labour Party (LP) aspirant in the 2025 governorship election in Anambra, says he is seeking election for a single term of four years, and that voters in the state should reject him if after four years he seeks reelection.

“I believe that in Anambra, we have respected zoning. I, if I become the governor and after four years, I come out for re-election, Anambra people should reject me, regardless of how well I am doing,” Mr Nwosu said.

The Information Communication Technology expert said this at a media parley with journalists in Awka on Saturday.

Further speaking, Mr Nwosu said the thrust of his programme was captured in his policy plan which targeted  Security, Health, Education, Economy, Environment, Markets and Social Welfare (SHEEEMS).

The Nnewi born technocrat said four years was enough for him to transform Anambra, adding that he would not violate the zoning formula which has taken roots in the state.

“I am bringing into governance a commitment to best practices and efficient service delivery with our Security, Health, Education, Economy, Environment, Markets and Social Welfare (SHEEEMS) governance platform.

“I offer, with all humility, a different approach to governance, which is not Rocket Science; it is humble, diligent and transformative leadership. That is what I am offering to Anambra people.

Mr Nwosu said he would engage traditional institutions in the development of the state as well as champion inter state collaborate to evolve an economically viable and security stable region.

According to him, it is vital to respect and uphold our traditional institutions for our greater good, stating that “We will promote our culture and heritage.”

He added, “We must have the political will for collaborative governance efforts and choose the optimal models. For a viable and sustainable development, states should embark on bilateral, trilateral or  zonal ventures.”
