The presidency on Saturday, November 2, 2024, denied allegations that President Bola Tinubu’s administration has been favouring the Yoruba nation in terms of appointment in the security sector.
Reacting to the claims which continued to escalate, the Special Adviser to the President on Public Communications and Orientation, Sunday Dare, shared a list of the heads of security agencies appointed by the president since assuming office on May 29, 2023.
According to the list, the North West region of the country was shown to have eight appointees which is the highest number of appointees.
This was followed by the South West (five) and North Central (four).
In the post which Mr Dare shared on X, the North East has three appointees, according to the presidential aide’s list, while South South and South East have one each.
In addition to the data which he made public, the former minister said, “Facts do not lie. Below we see laid bare the facts about the regional outlook of President Tinubu’s appointments within 20 security agencies.
“The label of him favouring Yorubas in the Security set-up does not fit. Nigeria we hail thee!” he noted in the caption.
