Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, the chief judge of Ekiti state is dead.
Mr Adeyeye died on Monday, November 4, 2024, at the age of 64.
The judge’s passing was announced in a statement issued on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, by Olanike Adegoke, the chief registrar of the Ekiti State Judiciary.
Mrs Adegoke said the judge died after a brief illness.
Describing Mr Adeyeye as “a respectful jurist”, the chief registrar said the late judge dedicated his life to upholding the principles of fairness, equity and justice.
“His contribution to the development of the judiciary and Ekiti State at large are immeasurable and his legacy will be deeply missed.
“The details of the burial arrangement will be announced in due course,” Mrs Adegoke said.
