Two persons sustained varying degrees of injury on the Lagos Badagry Expressway on Monday as a Volkswagen car collided with a motorcycle conveying two passengers.
Mr William Manga, Unit Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Badagry Command, confirmed the incident in an interview.
Mr Manga said that the accident occurred at about 1:58 pm at Torikoh Bus Stop axis of the expressway.
“Our personnel were alerted about the accident immediately, and we got to the scene at exactly 2:05 pm.
“The Volkswagen car with registration number KTU523EW had head-on collision with a motorcycle with registration number FST918QN conveying two passengers coming from Badagry.
“Three persons were involved in the accident but only two of them sustained injuries.”
The commander said that the accident was due to speeding by the Volkswagen car.
He said that injured persons had been taken to General Hospital in Badagry for treatment.
The unit commander urged motorists plying the Lagos-Badagry Expressway to be conscious of their speed on the one-lane road during the ember months.
