The former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, pleaded not guilty to a 16-count charge levelled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Mr Bello made an appearance at the following a N110 billion case of money laundering and diversion of funds preferred against him.
Recall that the former governor was declared wanted after a debacle with officers of the anti-graft agency who tried to arrest him at his residence in Abuja.
The governor, however, on Tuesday, November 26, honoured an invitation by the EFCC, where he was later detained and further brought to court on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
Daily Patriot gathered that Mr Bello drove himself and his lawyers to the EFCC headquarters, Abuja in a black Hilux vehicle.
He had earlier been charged with a 19-count charge which was later reviewed and ammended to 16-count by the EFCC.
