A Shari’a court in Rigasa, Kaduna State, has ordered Abdulrahman Muhammad, a commercial motorcycle rider, to pay a monthly feeding allowance of ₦25,000 for his five children.
The judge, Malam Muhammad Adamu, also granted the custody of the children to their mother, Zaituna Abdulkadir, Muhammad’s estranged wife.
Earlier, the petitioner, Zaituna in her application urged the court to grant her custody of her children, and for it to compel her ex-husband to pay the sum of ₦75,000 monthly feeding allowance for their children.
“The children have been with me for over a year and he doesn’t discharge his responsibility as a father.
“I want him to take care of our children’s school fees, health and clothing,” she pleaded with the court.
However, the court compelled Muhammad to pay a monthly feeding allowance of ₦25,000 after he could only volunteer ₦20,000 monthly allowance.
