The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, 2025, as public holidays to mark Good Friday and Easter Monday.
The announcement was made by Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior, on behalf of the Federal Government. He congratulated Christians across the country on the occasion and urged them to reflect on the values of sacrifice, love, and redemption, which define the Easter celebration.
According to the Minister, the Easter period offers Nigerians an opportunity to renew their commitment to peace, unity, and national development. He encouraged citizens to use the holidays to pray for the country’s stability and to extend goodwill to one another through acts of kindness.
According to BusinessDay, Tunji-Ojo reaffirmed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s dedication to the Renewed Hope Agenda, describing it as a policy direction aimed at fostering economic growth, social harmony, and long-term development.
The Minister called on Nigerians to remain hopeful and continue supporting efforts aimed at building a stronger and more united nation.
