No fewer than twenty-eight suspected internet fraudsters have been arrested by the operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The anti-graft agency in a post shared via its X.com page (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday stated that the suspected internet fraudsters were arrested based on credible intelligence at different locations in Benin City.
According to The PUNCH, the post reads, “Operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday May 14, 2025 arrested 28 suspected internet fraudsters at different locations in Benin City.
”The suspects were arrested following credible intelligence that linked them to fraudulent internet activities.
”The agency said the suspects would be charged to court after due investigation as been conducted.
“They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”
Attached to the post were images of recovered cars, smartphones, laptop computers, and the suspects.
