A YouTube food series, ‘My Tasty Naija’, is set to host a food festival at Chingford Rugby Club in London, United Kingdom.
According to a statement sent to Saturday Beats, the festival will celebrate Nigerian cuisine and culture, with flavour, music, and creativity.
The host of the show and brain behind the festival, Abass Tijani, noted that he intends to tell the stories of his origin through this festival.
He said, “We are not just serving meals, we’re telling our story through every bite. This festival is a way to honour our roots, celebrate our journey, and share the rich tapestry of Nigerian culture with the world.”
The British-Nigerian media entrepreneur and cultural advocate, launched My Tasty Naija, on YouTube in January 2024. Since then, it has evolved into a vibrant digital movement, bridging generations through food and shared stories.
The statement added, “From suya joints in Peckham to jollof rice legends in Wembley, the show has spotlighted Nigerian-owned eateries across the UK, becoming a foodie roadmap for lovers of African cuisine.
“One viral episode featured a culinary adventure to Yetti’s Kitchen in Manchester, where Chef Yetti Tabai, a trailblazing Nigerian chef with an in-flight catering licence, invited the crew aboard a private jet for a luxurious food-tasting flight to Glasgow.”
