The Nasarawa State Government has concluded plans to host President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, for the inauguration of key infrastructure projects valued at over ₦38 billion, executed under the leadership of Governor Abdullahi Sule.

During the visit, President Tinubu will officially commission three major projects, the ₦16.6 billion Lafia flyover/underpass, the ₦16 billion State Secretariate Complex and the dualisation of the 4.5km Lafia-Shemdam road, constructed at a cost of ₦5.5 billion.

In addition, the President is expected to flag off the construction of the ₦10 billion Keffi flyover in Keffi Local Government Area.

Among these projects, the newly completed State Secretariate Complex and the flyover and underpass stands out with its modern design, equipped with cutting-edge facilities and powered by a solar farm, providing a conducive work environment for the state’s civil servants.

The transformation of Lafia is further evident with the installation of streetlights stretching from the “Welcome to Lafia” point to the Mararaba Akunza roundabout, as well as from the Total Junction to the Old High Court Complex along Shendam road. The beautification of the roadsides with flowers and repainting of public structures have also added to the city’s appeal, the state authorities noted.

Governor Sule, who commented on the visit of the President, recently revealed at a public event in Lafia that these projects were not part of his initial campaign promises, nor were they financed with borrowed funds.

“On the 25th of this month, we will be receiving Mr. President in Lafia to commission some of our projects. Some of these we never promised. We never imagined we’d have the capacity to deliver them.

“Today, we have completed all of them without borrowing one naira. This has only been possible through the renewed hope economic formula we are benefiting from the President,” he said.
