MTN donates 750 digital tablets to Borno secondary schools

MTN Nigeria Communications Plc on Wednesday donated 750 digital tablets to 15 secondary schools across Borno State, which had each of the 15 schools getting 50 tablets each.

Speaking during the symbolic handover in Maiduguri, the state capital, the MTN Acting Managing Director covering Borno, Yobe and Gombe state, Tijanni Salihu, urged school principals and teachers not to only see the tablets as tools but as a catalyst that ignites curiosity and promotes learning in new and engaging ways

According to him, the distribution of the tablets highlights the  organisation’s shared commitment to education, innovation, and opportunity for every child

He stressed, “This ceremony represents more than the distribution of digital devices. It reflects our chaired commitment to education, innovation, and opportunity for every child no matter where they live. MTN believes that everyone deserves  a modern connected life.

“This initiative was conceived by His excellency, the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima who on behalf of the federal government requested that MTN donates tablets to secondary schools in Nigeria to support the digital literacy agenda of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he added.
