Over ₦50M up for grabs at Maltina teachers’ competition

A total sum of ₦51.6 million in cash, sponsorship and projects are up for grabs in the Maltina Teacher of the Year Competition for the year 2025.

This was brought to the fore when the Nigerian Breweries-Felix Ohiwerei Education Trust Fund launched the call for entries for the 11th edition of the competition in Lagos.

This year’s competition will see the overall winner receive a trophy, a cash prize of ₦10 million, a capacity development training opportunity abroad and a school infrastructure project worth ₦30 million in his or her school.

Corporate Affairs Director, NB Plc, Uzodinma Odenigbo, who made this known, added that the first runner-up will receive a trophy and a total cash prize of ₦5 million, while the second runner-up gets a trophy and a total sum of ₦3 million.

Also, all state champions will receive recognition plaques and a cash prize of ₦1 million each.

He stated that secondary school teachers in both public and private schools are eligible to participate in the competition.

“This competition is a transformative platform that aligns with Nigeria Breweries’ commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 4 – Quality Education. This initiative has created powerful ripple effects across schools and communities through the inspiring journeys of past winners,” Odenigbo said.

Entries are open from June 24 to August 22, with eligible teachers expected to visit the dedicated Maltina Teacher of the Year website to complete the entry form online.
