A renowned entrepreneur, Deola Art Alade, recently opened up about the dynamics of working with her spouse, challenging the common belief that mixing love and business is a recipe for disaster.

Deola and her husband, Darey Art Alade, have been married for over 10 years and jointly run Livespot360.

Together, they spearheaded initiatives that transformed Nigeria’s creative scene.

She was the mastermind behind “Love Like a Movie,” a groundbreaking concert series that captivated audiences by merging music, theatre, and innovative technology.

The series showcased global stars like Kim Kardashian and Kelly Rowland, earning praise from fans and critics alike.

In her reflections shared on Instagram on Monday, Deola Art Alade emphasised the importance of maintaining clear boundaries and mutual respect when working with a spouse.

“Partnerships with your spouse are not for the faint-hearted.

“But when it works, it can be the most powerful thing, if you’re both disciplined enough to respect the line between boardroom and bedroom,” she said.

She highlighted how they balance their roles, “At work, we’re partners. At home, we’re husband and wife. We don’t compete; we complement. We protect our friendship, not just our profits.”

Deola debunked the myth that working together harms marriages, explaining, “It only ruins marriages when there are no boundaries, no respect, and no clarity.”

Her advice provides insight for couples considering entrepreneurial ventures together, showing that with discipline and communication, love and business can coexist successfully.
