Lagos-based non-league side Tonic Football Club has unveiled five of its players that were recently signed up by Portugal’s FC Esmoriz.

Tonic FC was founded six months ago with FC Esmoriz of Portugal as the parent club.

The club participated in the recently-concluded Nationwide League One (NLO) championship and narrowly missed out on promotion.

According to the General Overseer of Tonic FC, Prince Dapo Ajibade, the team is essentially aimed at discovering and developing young and fresher talents from the grassroots level.

“Tonic FC is a veritable football factory based in the lovely Ikorodu community of Lagos State. This is just a tip of the iceberg, because we’ve many other young and talented footballers, who will soon join the professional ranks in a not too distant future,” the football administrator said.

The five players, including giant young goalkeeper Ayuba Oyetola, who stands at 6’9 height, are scheduled to travel out to Portugal in the next few weeks to continue their careers as professional footballers.
