Veteran Nigerian musician Baba Fryo has accused content creator Nasboi of copyright infringement.

Fryo in his allegation claimed that Nasboi used lyrics from his iconic hit “Denge Pose” without permission in a new song titled “Short Skirt.”

In a video which has gone viral on social media, Baba Fryo voiced his frustration and demanded proper credit and compensation for the use of his lyrics.

He noted that the issue of copyright infringement and theft of intellectual property has been a recurring problem.

The musician also warned that he is prepared to take legal action if Nasboi does not address the matter.

Speaking directly to his followers, Baba Fryo said, “Nigerians, I greet you all. This has been happening for a while, and I’m not happy about it. But now, I’m ready to take action.

“You see that song Nasboi released called ‘Short Skirt’? My lyrics ‘Dengo dey denge Denge’ are in the verse. Anyone who knows Nasboi should tell him to reach out to me before things get out of hand.”

In the post, the veteran artist stated that he is unhappy with the current situation and vows that this would be the last time such would be tolerated.

His words, “I’m not happy with this situation, and this must be the last time anyone uses my song without permission. Tell him to contact me before I take further action.”

Nasboi, who initially rose to fame as a content creator on YouTube, has successfully transitioned into the music industry, collaborating with prominent artists such as Wande Coal on the track “Umbrella.”
