Kassia Sule, a former housemate from BBNaija season nine, has opened up about the challenges she faced pretending not to be married to her husband, KellyRae, while on the reality show.
Mrs Sule, an entrepreneur, was evicted last Sunday, September 29, 2024, alongside fellow housemates Topher and Ocee.
The ex-BBN housemate and her husband, KellyRae, entered the show as part of the “Double Kay” pair, but only viewers were aware that they were married. The other housemates were led to believe the couple were just best friends.
In an interview, Mrs Kassia admitted that keeping up the pretence was tough, especially because physical touch is one of her love languages.
“It was difficult for me. I can’t lie. I am someone whose love language is physical touch. I like to touch him a lot. But being in that space, I couldn’t do that,” she explained.
She credited KellyRae for helping her stay focused, saying he constantly reminded her of their purpose on the show.
“Sometimes I forget myself, but KellyRae always reminded me, “You know why we are here. Don’t do this, don’t do that. Make sure you don’t lose guard. That helped me out,” Mrs Kassia added.
The decision to keep their marriage a secret came from a friend, according to Kassia, as they wanted the housemates to feel comfortable and interact with them without any bias due to their marital status.
“It wasn’t a strategy at first. It was more like, let us go in and let the housemates be free with us,” she said.
