Janice Combs, the mother of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has reacted to her son’s recent arrest on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.

Mr Combs, known for his hits like “I’ll Be Missing You,” was arrested last month and has remained in custody at a Manhattan Detention Centre after being denied bail.

In a statement issued through her attorney, Natlie Figgers, Ms Combs expressed her heartbreak over the accusations, calling them “fabricated lies” and condemning the media’s portrayal of her son.

She emphasised that while her son has made mistakes, the allegations have unfairly demonised him.

“It is heartbreaking to see my son judged not for the truth, but for a narrative created out of lies,” She said.

The defence for her son comes as reports suggest that over 100 individuals may come forward with additional claims of sexual assault, rape, and exploitation against the rapper.

Mr Combs’ legal team has categorically denied these allegations, describing them as “false and defamatory.”

The accusations against the rapper first surfaced last year when his former partner, Cassie Ventura, accused him of rape and abuse.

Though the lawsuit was quickly settled out of court, it sparked a wave of similar claims from other women.

Since then, Mr Combs has faced multiple lawsuits, and federal agents have conducted raids on his properties as part of an ongoing investigation.

In May, video footage emerged showing Mr Combs physically assaulting Ms Ventura in a 2016 incident, escalating the public scrutiny.

Acknowledging the video, Ms Combs admitted her son “may not have been entirely truthful” about the event but maintained that the situation was more complex than it appeared.

She suggested that her son’s legal team was able to settle the case with Ms Ventura to avoid further damage to his reputation.

Mr Combs has since apologised for his actions in the video, saying, “I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I was disgusted then when I did it, and I’m disgusted now.”

Despite the growing legal challenges, the rapper’s family continues to stand by him, with Ms Combs insisting that her son is not the “monster” he has been portrayed to be.
