Members of the public have been advised to disregard a recruitment notice circulating across social media and other digital platforms under the name of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS).

In a public notice published on its official X account on Monday, titled “Fraudulent Recruitment Notice”, the NRS clarified that it has neither approved nor launched any hiring drive. The agency noted that it had drawn attention to the fake advertisement, headlined “Federal Inland Revenue Service – FIRS Job Vacancy – Replacement”, which instructs applicants to submit personal details to recruit@replacementnhrmt.org.

Warning jobseekers to exercise caution and independently verify any notices carrying the FIRS name, the NRS stressed that no individual, agent, or third party has been authorised to handle recruitment on its behalf.

“Any legitimate recruitment exercise undertaken by the Nigeria Revenue Service will be formally communicated through the Service’s official website and authorised communication channels,” the statement read, urging the public to verify all employment claims through these official outlets prior to taking action.
