The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, alongside the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has extended Independence Day greetings to the public, urging collective dedication to advancing the nation.

Calling for reform measures to be backed by a firm stance against financial crimes, Olukoyede stressed that national growth depends on a deliberate refusal to compromise. He noted that although Nigeria has made substantial headway in its development since gaining independence, corrupt practices must not be allowed to undermine these achievements.

“At 66, Nigeria has come a long way. Independence has offered us liberty and self-determination. We are also making considerable progress in nation building,” he stated, adding that “Nigeria will surely get better!”

Meanwhile, JAMB highlighted the nation’s technological progress over the decades, pointing to its own shift from paper-based examinations to digital testing as evidence of national growth.

The board remarked that the anniversary serves as a moment to acknowledge past milestones while working towards future possibilities. “From pen and paper to keyboards and screens, Nigeria has evolved, and JAMB has evolved with her,” the board said, wishing citizens a happy celebration.
