President Bola Tinubu has paid a glowing birthday tribute to his wife, Oluremi, on the occasion of her 66th birthday, describing her as his “truest friend and confidante” and praising her steadfast devotion throughout their shared journey.
In a statement posted on his verified X handle on Monday, the President reflected on their decades together, acknowledging how the First Lady stood by him during uncertain times and shared his heaviest burdens. “Today, I celebrate the woman who has walked beside me with patience, grace and uncommon courage. Àwọn àgbà sọ pé, ‘Ìyàwó rere ni adé ọkọ rẹ̀.’ A good wife is her husband’s crown,” he wrote, adding that her presence provided a constant source of calm, counsel, and prayer.
Highlighting her role within their home, President Tinubu commended her for instilling values of faith and kindness in their children and grandchildren. “Our home bears the lasting imprint of your devotion. Our children and grandchildren have grown beneath the shelter of your prayers. They carry your values of faith and kindness wherever life takes them,” he noted, observing that she has consistently embodied the biblical qualities of a virtuous woman.
The President also lauded her extensive humanitarian efforts across the nation, which include her work with the New Era Foundation during his tenure as Governor of Lagos State and her current leadership of the Renewed Hope Initiative. He noted that her philanthropic outreach, spanning support for young people, widows, elderly citizens, and women farmers, transcends ethnic, regional, and religious divides, whilst also acknowledging her passionate advocacy for individuals suffering from tuberculosis and other health challenges.
He said, “Nigerians know you for your compassion, kindness, generosity of spirit and steadfast faith. I have watched you touch lives quietly and consistently, offering hope and support to those in need.”
In his personal reflections, President Tinubu spoke of the quiet sacrifices and difficult decisions that shaped their relationship over the years, noting that their bond was sustained by mutual laughter and shared prayer. He declared that he would readily choose the same path again if given the chance to relive his life. “If life returned me to the beginning, I would choose the same road that led me to you.
