The Governor of Ondo State and the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has cast his vote at his polling unit in Igbo Ward 4, Obenla community, Ilaje Local Government Area of the state.
Aiyedatiwa, who was escorted by his security aides, arrived at his polling unit around 8:46 am and voted exactly 8:50 am amidst cheers from his kinsmen, according to The PUNCH.
The Ondo State Governorship election started on Saturday with a heavy security presence consisting of personnel of the police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) observed at strategic points across the state.
Armed security personnel were observed at strategic points such as the entrance into Akure, the state capital, major towns, the local governments secretariats as well as on major roads in the state.
