Nigerian singer Yemi Alade has alleged that Cool FM and Clout Africa have blacklisted her music for over a year due to her absence at one of their events.

In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, the 35-year-old artist claimed both platforms have taken down her songs and ignored her attempts to reconcile, despite her apologies.

Without naming the specific event or providing details of when it occurred, Alade expressed her frustration over what she described as ongoing hostility from the two organisations.

“NA GOD BE MY LABEL AND MANAGEMENT,” she wrote. “@cloutafrica @CoolFMNigeria keep forming gatekeepers and taking my songs down. Fake people wey dey feel like small gods.”

She added, “For 1 year … shameful, very shameless. I apologized and even called your oga [boss], but he didn’t even reply to my text.”

Alade accused the platforms of holding a grudge since December 2023, noting that their actions had extended into December 2024. Despite the alleged blacklisting, she expressed confidence in her resilience.

“God go still give me food,” she stated. “Life is a marathon, not a sprint.”

Neither Cool FM nor Clout Africa has publicly addressed the allegations as of the time of this report.

Yemi Alade, a multiple award-winning singer known for hits like Johnny and Africa, remains one of Nigeria’s most prominent music exports. This controversy highlights the tension that can arise between artists and media platforms in the entertainment industry.
