The head of the UN agency responsible for Palestinian refugees, Philippe Lazzarini, has described the killing of dozens in the Northern area of Gaza as a situation beyond redemption.

In a post on X, Mr Lazzarini wrote, “No end to hell”.

Also calling for a ceasefire, the UN chief said that at least 4,000 people are trapped in the area as evacuation orders from the Israeli Authorities are forcing residents to flee from the Javalia Camp.

While stating that many residents are refusing to leave because they believe nowhere is safe in Gaza, Mr Lazzarini said the UN shelters and services are being forced to shut down for the first time since the war started.

He said, “With almost no basic supplies available, hunger is spreading and deepening again.

“This recent military operation also threatens the implementation of the second phase of the #polio vaccination campaign for children.

“Children are as ever, the first & most to suffer. They deserve so much better, they deserve a #CeasefireNOW, they deserve a future,” Mr Lazzarini added.

Recall that the Palestinian news agency WAFA said one strike killed 15 people, targeting the courtyard of a hospital and hitting tents sheltering displaced persons.

While the Israeli Forces have said the claim is being verified, medical sources said 60 people including a journalist were killed in the attack.
