The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot prices of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) and Automotive Gas Oil (diesel) as part of an effort to ease energy costs nationwide.
Under the adjusted pricing model, petrol has been reduced by ₦50, dropping from ₦1,215 per litre to ₦1,165. Similarly, the wholesale price of diesel has been slashed by ₦80, falling from ₦1,650 per litre to ₦1,570.
The firm highlighted its central role in bolstering national energy security and driving economic growth by curbing reliance on foreign imports and maintaining a steady supply of refined products.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Dangote Group explained that the downward review aims to make fuel more accessible, lower operational costs for businesses, and stimulate broader economic activity across the country.
“Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and Automotive Gas Oil (Diesel), reaffirming its commitment to providing affordable, high-quality petroleum products to the Nigerian market,” the company stated.
“The price review reflects Dangote Refinery’s ongoing efforts to enhance energy affordability, improve access to refined petroleum products, and support economic activities across Nigeria,” the statement added.
The refinery stated that it leverages internal operational efficiencies to deliver better value to consumers, promising to pass on future savings whenever market dynamics allow.
