Nigerian starlets Zadok Yohanna and Calvin Okike have been highlighted as two of Europe’s most promising young talents tipped to make a major mark during the 2026–27 Premier League campaign.
According to a BBC Sport report published on Wednesday, the duo feature in a 20-man selection of rising stars from across the top flight poised for senior breakthrough seasons. The list comes as clubs increasingly focus on internal youth development ahead of the upcoming term.
Among the most high-profile inclusions is 19-year-old Brighton & Hove Albion winger Zadok Yohanna. The Sussex club secured his signature in a £21.5 million deal from Swedish side AIK Stockholm, where he registered five goals and four assists across 18 appearances.
Former Brighton midfielder Warren Aspinall hailed the transfer as “a little bit of a scalp,” noting that the Seagulls managed to beat rivals “Chelsea and Newcastle” to complete the deal.
Also featured is 18-year-old Hull City defender Calvin Okike. Named Hull’s academy player of the year for 2025–26, the centre-back recently signed his first professional contract after gaining senior experience on loan at National League side Hartlepool United, where he scored just one minute into his debut. His inclusion in pre-season preparations has further boosted his prospects of making a top-flight impact.
The selection also includes several highly rated European prospects, such as Arsenal forward Max Dowman, Chelsea striker Dastan Satpaev, Liverpool midfielder Trey Nyoni, and Manchester United winger Shea Lacey.
