The Nigerian Army has declared the top leadership of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) wanted, following a major intelligence breakthrough stemming from recent military offensives in the Lake Chad region.
Among those targeted are Abu Musa Al-Mangawi Baa Shuwa, identified as the ISWAP “Governor” (Wali), and his deputy, Amirul Jaish Muhammad Jidda (known as “The One-Handed Man”). Other key figures identified include Hamad Abu Hanifa, the group’s Amirul-Fiya.
To accelerate their capture, military authorities have placed a ₦10 million bounty on Jidda, who serves as commander of the Jaish unit, and a ₦50 million bounty on Ibn Muhammad, the commander of ISWAP’s intelligence and security wing, the Amniyya unit. A substantial cash reward has also been promised for information leading directly to the arrest of Abu Musa, designated as the most wanted terrorist leader in the Lake Chad Basin.
Goni urged citizens to provide timely information that could lead to the location and arrest of the suspects via official security channels or by calling 0708 498 8859.
“Citizens are strongly advised not to confront or attempt to apprehend the suspected terrorists under any circumstances,” he warned.
The military assured the public that all information provided would be treated with strict confidentiality, guaranteeing full protection for informants under established security protocols.
